Everyone needs compassion
And love that never fails
Let mercy fall on me
When everyone needs forgiveness
Kindness of the Saviour
The Hope of the nation
Saviour, He can move the mountains
My God is mighty to save
He is mighty to save
Forever author of salvation
He rose and conquered the grave
Jesus conquered the grave
So take me as you find me
All my fears and failures
Fill my life again
I give my life to follow
Everything that i believe in
Now i surrender
Shine a light in and
let the whole world see
Singing, for the glory of the risen king
Jesus, Shine a light and
let the whole world see
Singing for the glory of the risen king

HILARYYYY HERE :D
Here's my sharing for the past two days!
Mark 1:21-34
Verse 22: People were amazed at Jesus' authority, not just the law and and what he said...
I guess essentially we can read the Word and be up to our heads with knowledge and facts, like every other student in school who studies hard, but ultimately what will set us apart is the God-given authority that we show others through our speech and actions.
In the same way Jesus stood out from the religious teachers because he didn't just regurgitate facts and knowledge; but he exercised His Godly authority and His annointed words just really blessed people in such a great way.
In the same way when we talk to others about our faith, are we going to just present mere facts or are we going to really own our faith and use that God-given authority to present the gospel in all its entirety to the masses? Let's pray for God's empowering to utilise the Word with His authority to bless others!
Mark 1:35-45
Verse 35-39: what's interesting is that Jesus prayed before the day began. Before the exciting miracles, the cool stuff, beginning His work for the day, he found a quiet corner to pray. So before we rush headlong into things, being busy in the world, let's learn to seek God in a time of prayer and be filled with His spirit before we begin!
OH AND THIS IS FROM ESTHER (CLAP FOR HER!!!!!)
For Mark 1:20-34
I learned that Jesus has authority in everything, be it teaching or driving out the evil spirits. and about the healing, Jesus can do miracles :D

hey wazzup ladies and gents, thought I should post what i have learnt from Mark 1 today. sorry if i can't really post on a daily basis. okay from mark 1:1-20, i learnt that god is always faithful, like in verse 13 where he sent to the wilderness to be tempted by the devil, God still sent angels to minister and take care of him. To me, i kinda thought that this is like how God will always be there for us even though he lets us go through tests and trials in different seasons of our lives. yeah so i felt rather comforted after reading this on the first day, so to all you people out there who feels that life is really getting tough, just know that god is there for you, just like how he was there for Jesus, and it will all work out fine in the end (:
Mark 1: 21-45 i feel like the whole chunk was about how Jesus performed miracles. When he did so, some were questioning about how he casted out evil spirits. This easter, some will question as we invite our friends to church. what is important is that we stand firm on what we are doing, just like how Jesus did, and invite your friends, not being affected by the words of others. (although actually i don't really think we face this much in our school)
I think that this passage was also talking about having a sense of expectation when asking from God. it is through this expectation that Jesus was able to perform miracles. So, when you need God's help, don't fear to ask from God and believe that God will bless you , cause God really wants to do so as well. ASK AND YOU WILL RECEIVE.
okay that's all folks. if marcus can do his quiet time and share, so can you! (: so jiayou everybody, thanks for reading and post your sharings as well!marcus

GUYS!!! Okay, so here marks the first post of our Mark bible reading marathon thingy :) Mark 1: 1-20 ESTHER SAYS: The passage tells us about Jesus, who is the Son of God. He is more superior than John the Baptist and He baptises people differently- with the Holy spirit :) How would you live your life differently, knowing that we've been baptised with the Holy Spirit, that we have the authority in us given by the Son of the most High? HILARY (ME) SAYS: Few things we can learn, 1) GOD'S FAITHFULNESS Verse 2- 3 recaps what was written by Isaiah the prophet, and as you guys might have recalled from the sermon, the era of prophecies about the Messiah was FOUR HUNDRED YEARS ago. Then, a looong period of silence. And after the long period of silence, God spoke! See verse 4, "AND SO JOHN CAME". He stayed true to His word (which was given 400 years before) and sent Jesus. Reflection point; are there prayers in your life which you're still waiting and waiting for God to answer? Just like the 400 years Israel had to wait, it might be insane, and horrible, and miserable. But take heart that God is a faithful God who hears our cries, and will intervene in His own Godly timing. We don't always know know why the periods of silences might be so excruciatingly long, but God has His plan, and His plan ultimately is the best for us :) So whatever might be troubling you, continue to lift it up to Him and wait expectantly for His answer!!! 2) REPENTANCE BEFORE GOD'S ARRIVAL Verse 4 and 5 talks about John leading the multitudes to repentance; and take note this is before Jesus was even sent. Move back a couple of verses and you will see the point of all this in the phrase in verse 3 "Prepare the way for the lord". So what does preparation mean? For Israel, it meant repentance and cleansing of their sins so that when God eventually appeared, they could meet Him with with clean hands and pure hearts. For us, this means essentially the same thing- God doesn't want us to prepare for His arrival with festivities and pinatas and balloons, but He wants us to prepare ourselves by making our hearts CLEAN. BTW, official term for this cleansing is SANCTIFICATION, if i'm not wrong... Reflection point here; are we coming before God with clean hands and pure hearts? Or do we go to service jumping and praising Him after a week of being mean to people and doing other not-nice stuff thinking its all okay? So let's learn to come before God as purified beings okay everyone! Let's not gloss over our wrongdoings as things that will be forgiven by God's grace ANYWAY, but strive towards a life of purity! :) Mark 21-34 today!

heyy heyy...
If there's one thing the holidays made me learn...it would be the importance of time. Indeed, time is spinning around...it is not lagging, it is at FULL speed! And it is never wearied! But you know something...we get wearied.
I think you have heard, from time to time, so and so has been
chasing after time...why does a person have to do so? Because he feels time has never pause for him. And we all have felt like that, at one time or another yea? We have so much things to do, and so little time
left. But God's purpose in our lives is not to chase after time. But to pursue an altogether different thing. And that is His presence. People chase after time to avoid regrets (If only I had used more time to study...to build more friendships...to sharpen my gifts and talents...If only...I had caught up with time) But the bible tells us that if we want to live life without regrets- then we have got to learn to pursue instead His presence.
Listen to Jesus. He said, "Do not worry about tomorrow...the birds of the air neither sow nor reap or gather in barns, but my heavenly father provides for them..." What was he saying here? Is he asking us not to plan...not to sow into our future?
NO! He IS implying that even when we do sow- into our studies, our relationships ,our health, our ministry- we should not
worry about the outcome. Have you ever sowed into one of these areas and then worried if that seed you sowed (be it time, expenses, energy etc) would be exactly the right proportion or right mix for success in that area? Jesus is saying to you, DON'T! Because, no one can truly know- trust the father to provide the best!
Then he says that no one by "worrying adds a single hour to his life" - there's no point "backtracking" to the past to dig up possibilities of what you
could have done...DON'T! Bury those possibilities...they are gone. And let the past, or should I say, let TIME that you have allowed to pass go. No point worrying about what you could have done with it anymore.
Yes! We all reap what we sow. Sow a good sead, reap a good harvest. Sow a bad seed, reap a poor harvest! Let's PLAN and SOW WISELY into our studies, relationships, health, ministry- and most importantly our relationship with God! But let's never forget that the success of these is in the Hands of the our loving father...whom we can trust...and He also holds all TIME in His hands. What have you regretted doing, or not doing? Surrender the past- and be amazed by How he makes ALL things work for your good!
Believe in you,
Benedict
